Commissione Giovani-USA Announces Partnership with NIAF
(Washington, D.C. – September 20, 2011) Commissione Giovanni-USA (CG-USA) is proud to collaborate with the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) to provide educational and cultural opportunities to young adults. “Since its inception, Commissione Giovani-USA has been a resource for Italian and Italian-American young adults in the United States. Collaborating with the National Italian American Foundation will allow both organizations to achieve our individual goals while further unifying our community and celebrating our Italian heritage,” said Maria Luisa Bello, president of CG-USA. The partnership includes cross promotions of events nationally and regionally, discounts at co-sponsored events, information sharing on topics related to Italian-American young adults, and collaborating on networking opportunities as well as increasing youth memberships within the two organizations. “We at the National Italian American Foundation are very excited with the opportunity that this collaboration provides as it will enhance the educational and cultural goals of both organizations,” said Matthew J. DiDomenico, Sr., NIAF senior executive vice president and chair of the Foundation’s education and grant committee. Commissione Giovani-USA (CG-USA) is dedicated to unifying and strengthening the young Italian/Italian-American community by creating a network and forum for giovani (youth) to exchange ideas and create a stronger bond in the United States. CG-USA works to perpetuate a positive image of young Italians and Italian-Americans as well as to promote the Italian language and culture in the United States and be a resource both for our community of Italians and giovani. CG-USA groups are located around the country, centered in each consular district. The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, nonpartisan educational foundation that promotes Italian American culture and heritage. NIAF serves as a resource on the Italian American community and has educational and youth programs including scholarships, grants, heritage travel, and mentoring.
